A Contract and an Invoice will be sent to your Email Address. Payment can be made by using your credit card, PayPal or bank transfer. The contact can be signed online, even on your phone. After your booking, I will send you a little questionnaire to give me more information about your family, and anything special to include in your session. I will try to learn your names (I have to admit, I am bad at learning names, get ideas for new poses or bring special props. Every session is special and I want to make sure it is tailored to you and your family.
Questions before booking your Session
In the following section, I will try to answer a couple of the most asked questions before photos sessions. I hope it will answer some of your questions.
Best time for Photos?
Townsville and the Burdekin is a very sunny and bright place to live. For Photo Session I prefer the time just before sunset or just after sunrise. The so-called golden hour provides great light for beautiful photos. Depending on the location, photos during the day can be possible as well.
Best Place for Photos?
There are many great locations in Townsville and the Burdekin for photos. I am happy to give suggestions for your session. I am also available to travel further for sessions if needed.
What to wear?
After booking, I will send you a small styling guide to make sure you feel comfortable with your clothing choice. I am also available for styling tips. Don’t hesitate to send me photos before the session.
Do I need to bring anything?
I always bring a range of props with me to every photoshoot. Depending on the situation, I am offering some playful or creative props to make your photo experience better. For family photos I always bring a blanket to let you sit down. You don’t need to bring anything to the session. If you like to have certain items in the photos though, please bring them along. Does your kid has a favourite teddy bear? Do they like to have football themed photos? Let us talk about your ideas before the session.
A few tips for the families.
- Relax! I always say children are just like grownups. If we don’t want to do something, it makes it harder. Don’t worry about your child crying, having no interest or being afraid of me (I am a stranger for them). If you are happy and enjoy the time, your kids will as well.
- I will try to get a few “smile in the camera” shots, but otherwise, my photos for families are more lifelike. If you look at my other work you will see a lot of running and “action” shots. I want you to play around with the kids and be in the moment. Get some cuddles and enjoy your time together.
- Try to avoid the expectation build-up. This is not supposed to be parenting advice and it is up to you to know what works best with your children. Depending on the age of your children, they probably found out how to play a situation for their advantage. This is not supposed to sound mean, but children are smart. Please try not to tell your children in advance to behave at the photoshoot. If you let your children know, it is a big deal for you and that they need to behave, they will likely try to get the most out of it. You might start offering a small token to behave, but after a couple of days, you have to buy a pony to get your children to smile.
- If you like, bring snacks, your kids’ love. It can also help with the little hunger feeling during the session. I will have water available during the session and might bring some candy or chewing gum for after the session as well.
